Job Summary

Leads product marketing plan execution (50%). Supports on retail and sales activities (20%). Supports product trial activities (30%).

Key Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in marketing or a related field required
  • Education and/or experience in the field of horticulture is a plus
  • Project management experience with ability to balance multiple projects
  • Experience in the creative development process
  • Strong sense of ownership and initiative
  • Careful attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to build rapport and trust
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required, Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Ability to travel 4-6 times per year to tradeshows/events, trial sites and customer operations


  • Coordinate completion of program launch deliverables for each crop category, including annuals, perennials, potted crops, poinsettias, tropicals, and succulents
  • Complete new project intake process to determine scope, timeline, and resource distribution
  • Kick off projects with internal marketing team and/or agencies, providing clear direction and expectations for completion
  • Proactively monitor project status to avoid delays, overspending, and misaligned scope
  • Communicate often to manage expectations of project stakeholders
  • Manage catalog development for each crop category, including planning content and layout, directing designer, and coordinating proofing, revisions, printing, and distribution
  • Build PowerPoint decks and other sales and retail support materials, with an eye for detail
  • Provide creative direction and gather content for design of flyers, ads, and related collateral
  • Objectively review deliverables for content relevance and appropriate audience messaging
  • Ensure all external-facing deliverables meet brand standards
  • Support product trial program by coordinating order requests, confirmations, and deliveries, analyzing and distributing trial results
  • Assist in preparing product and display at events and tradeshows
  • Maintain industry knowledge by participating in continuing education opportunities


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in marketing required
  • Education and/or experience in the field of horticulture is a plus

Working conditions

  • Completes four to six work trips per year, on average
  • Prolonged sitting at work station in a well-lit open office
  • Required to communicate effectively in person and remotely (phone, email, GoToMeeting, Skype)
  • Occasional trial support in greenhouse working with plant material and soilless media
